CECG, Inc. – Computer Emergency and Consulting Group – is the oldest established microcomputer-consulting firm in the United States. CECG was started in 1978 and incorporated in 1979.
Founded by Mitch Geier, President of CECG, we specialize in Expert Network Administration – including WEB server design and maintenance. We concentrate on network security and are experienced in installing firewalls to protect our Client’s internal networks from outside attack.
Most CECG Clients are small to mid-sized businesses that require network and security expertise, but that do not have the need or resources for full-time expert network administration. CECG also offers affordable services for home users.

We started building computers form kits then came the Commodore Pet and others soon thereafter we saw the real revolution start with Apple Computer’s Apple II , and The Radio Shack TRS80. Then IBM took over the main part of the business PC market. We even ran a Bulletin board system(BBS) where users could dial into our systems and exchange information and programs. After the PC clones took over the next revolution was the internet as you know it. But CECG was getting News Feeds and email when it participated in the Arpernet years before it ever became the internet.
We have had many project too numerous but there are some highlights.
Wrote the RLL Hard Disk Drivers for SCO Wrote the Unix Drivers for the Diologic voice touchtone boards.
Designed the control system for the first fuel cell. Wrote the Unix Drivers for the Diologic voice touchtone boards.
Designed the first touchtone response system for both Order entry and computer dating.
